This event is raising funds for the New Moon Mycology Summit, an inclusive and inter-disciplinary learning experience for advancing ecological and social justice. The New Moon Mycology Summit, taking place August 29- September 2, 2019, needs funds to pay presenters while maintaining a “pay-what-you-can, no one turned away for lack of funds” ticket entry. Your donation to the Virginia Mycelial Gathering will help us tremendously!

The Virginia Mycelial Gathering will be hosted at the Earth Folk Collective, a collective of artists, activists, food growers, healers, travelers, and neighbors. It exists as an incubator/vortex for residency programs, public performances, potlucks, art builds, and educational workshops.

A special mycophagy meal will be prepared by Seeds of Peace Collective, which provides logistical support and trainings to activists struggling on the front lines for social, environmental, and economic justice. A portion of the donations raised during this event will go to them for furthering their work.

We believe that nobody should be turned away due to lack of financial resources, so the entrance fee is sliding-scale. This full spring gathering brings energy and focus to our efforts to spearhead another multi-day grassroots event later in the year. Our core organizers are looking for community involvement and support by creating a space where everyone can come together and participate in discussions, actions, and organizing. We are here to make this educational content accessible for everyone, and hope people feel empowered to support our vision to sustain this accessibility while also bringing instructors from across the globe.

To learn more please take a look at last year’s New Moon Mycology Summit (link below); our long term vision is to sustain and grow this event.

If you’re interested in volunteering or teaching at The Virginia Mycelial Gathering on May 11, or at the New Moon Mycology Summit from August 29-September 2, please contact us via themyceliumunderground@gmail.com.
